“I Didn’t Have Enough Time To Tell Tayshia How I Felt!”
*Spoiler from 12/14 Episode*
Why are all these guys leaving saying: "I didn’t have enough time to tell Tayshia how I really felt”????
Blake, Riley, and Bennet all said that on last night's episode alone but like…
Why my guys?
Why aren't you saying something sooner? You have all LITERALLY SIGNED UP to find love and there is so much explicit consent in this space to share how you feel…what's keeping you from sharing?
Is it a fear of rejection? A fear of scaring Tayshia off?
It was shocking to hear them all say that they wish they could have told her...because they could've...they just...didn't.
People love when you show genuine interest. That is genuine, specific interest. Interest that shows you are seeing this person for who they are, and ideally, seeing them the way they want to be seen.
People love specific questions. Questions that show that you’ve been listening to what they’ve been saying. Questions that don’t just clarify what they say, but get at how they feel about what they say.
People love real affirmation. Affirmation that has skill involved. Not just something that anyone who has stared at you in passing could have noticed*.
(*Unless you are asking out someone you’ve only seen in passing- then surface level compliments are sometimes all you can go on!)
So let’s try to learn from the mistakes of these gents.
Don’t let compliments go unsaid.
Don’t let love go unprofessed.
Because the worst thing that can happen, is that you get a no, right? And a no is better than being sent home in a limo and then showing up unannounced while the whole nation cringes at your return.
So let’s be bolder from the get go*, got it?
(*Like Lucy re: Tommy mid-season 5 of Love Island UK!)
